the LOT

Find our food truck at our permanent location at 116 Maitland Rd, Islington, NSW 2296.  We are open there every Thursday for lunch and on Fridays for lunch and dinner. As we grow into our new space, be sure to follow us on insta and facebook for events and join us at our annual event in the Hunter Valley.  Smoke in Broke

Texas Style BBQ is cooked with passion. Cooking meat for up to 15 hours with exactly the right temperature and spices to create a mouth watering experience. Our food ranges from smoked meat to many side dishes both Texan and Australian that compliment a great piece of meat.

We cater for all types of events: weddings, parties (Christmas, private, anniversaries and birthdays) and functions. We can do anything to meet your budget, from high class to backyard budget.  Our catering menu is flexible. 

ABOUT

Owner, Robert Thraves is a bit more than just your backyard BBQ sausage sizzle chef. He loves to cook meat low and slow for hours and hours in his homemade custom built Texas offset smoker. Rob’s wife Randi is a native Texan and has been the driving influence in their BBQ style. They often enjoy holidays to Texas filled with lots of family and the best BBQ joints throughout the state.

Rob’s style of BBQ is Texas with a bit of Aussie touch, you’ll find him cooking meat all night at the perfect temperature with his own unique blend of spices to ensure tender juicy and tasty meat. Meat can be enjoyed on its own, in a sandwich, or even in a taco.
